Could this be the way Congress finally approves term limits?

There is another way to do this, which occurred to me.

Return to State Legislatures appointing the 2 Senators for their state and for the House? Well, in all seriousness here, to read the material from the early period of our nation? The House was intended to be made up of less experienced, more reactionary and more representative people 'of the people', with the Senate being a more 'dignified' professional and stable side.

Which isn't such a bad idea, either. There does have to be SOME experience core, but also NEEDS to be citizens in this whole thing. Normal folks.

So..... The list to draw from already exists. Take the House idea one step further for reform.

ASSIGN seats and terms in the House by random lottery and through the same pool which feeds the U.S. jury system. (smile)

Perhaps it strengthens politics a bit in the Senate (not a good thing), but it would almost remove it entirely from the House with mandatory service if/when it comes up, and 1 termers to make the job something ambitious people wouldn't really want, anyway.

It wouldn't be any hardship to pass a few laws mandating jobs be held back home like the Nat'l Guard, and even living arrangements be supplied in the Washington area (modest..not Palatial, as some of their residences are now).

We might just get some mix of stubborn, workable, and old with new thinking Americans ... instead of the pure political class of scumbag we have now.

Politicals seem to stand for nothing but personal ambition and greed, pretty much universally. It seems a question of how long it takes for them to turn bad, rather than if it will happen.

A few exceptions..perhaps..like Ron Paul (sure NOT his kid and that apple DID fall far far from the tree) and Ben Carson, who I am really warming up to the idea of for 2016. A handfull out of a big big crowd though. Ineffective, as history and track records have shown.
