Duffy's Tavern. Where the elite meet to eat.
Duffy's Tavern was a popular American radio situation comedy which ran for a decade on several networks (CBS, 1941–1942; NBC-Blue Network, 1942–1944; NBC, 1944–1951), concluding with the December 28, 1951 broadcast.
The program often featured celebrity guest stars but always hooked them around the misadventures, get-rich-quick schemes and romantic missteps of the title establishment's malaprop-prone, metaphor-mixing manager, Archie, portrayed by Ed Gardner, the writer/actor who co-created the series. Gardner had performed the character of Archie, talking about Duffy's Tavern, as early as November 9, 1939, when he appeared on NBC's Good News of 1940.[1]
In the familiar opening, "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," performed either solo on an old-sounding piano or by a larger orchestra, was interrupted by the ring of a telephone and Gardner's New Yorkese accent as he answered, "Hello, Duffy's Tavern, where the elite meet to eat. Archie the manager speakin'. Duffy ain't here—oh, hello, Duffy." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duffy%27s_Tavern

Our Duffy's Tavern is a four story expansion of the bar in another site. There it was named Hernando's Hideaway. As Duffy's it will reach new glories.
The first floor of Duffy's has a trash barrel just inside the door connected to an exhaust fan. It is used by female members to serve as a place where they can burn their bras to express solidarity with something or other.
In the main room to the left as you enter you'll find tables for fine dining prepared and served by Mrs. Guohua and her carefully hand picked and trained staff. The rest of the left side of the room is the most magnificent bar you could ever imagine. Again, Mrs. G. and her staff provide impeccable service. And the selection! Exotic Chinese teas, the best coffee available, 83 kinds of draft beer, and a collection of liqueurs and spirits which beats anything in Europe. The bar stools are all automatically adjustable to your height and weight, perfect comfort at all times.
On the far right of the room, you can see a magnificent lodge-style fire place with over-stuffed leather chairs all around. And on the near right side you'll find a mix of tables and chairs for either the bar or restaurant patrons, then more stuffed chairs for conversation.
I should also mention that we have the finest selection of cigars from around the world.
There are anti-gravity and air cushioned elevators connecting all four floors, as well as fireman poles for those who want a little more excitement. The other floors will be discussed later as they are constructed. But there will be storage and refrigerators for the kitchen and bar on the second floor. There will also be areas for members who need to catch an overnight nap, a juke box, an art gallery, an observatory (to watch for Nibiru), pinball games, and more.
Come on in, sit down, order a drink and talk to the other guests.
