OH,,, The Connection was Good, I think it was To Good,,, The Mandarin Chinese was Fast and Furious Tonight! My poor Father couldn't get a word in anywhere, he and my husband just waved at each other and wondered off,,,,
Hmm, what's the truth. The truth is a verifiable fact or statement. The truth is accurate. The truth is not false. Probably that's a pretty shallow description but I admit to having a few Jack and coke's before Senona handed me that new bottle.
Well, In vino veritas, that may be as close as we get tonight. But to say that truth is "verifiable" or "accurate" or "not false," means we are comparing something to what we already know is the truth, and finding that it matches up.
You're absolutely right, of course, but that pushes "Truth" back one step. Even Jesus was asked, "What is Truth?" I don't recall Him supplying an answer.
Anyway, more vino you comely serving wench! Let joy and merriment ring out!
Even Jesus was asked, "What is Truth?" I don't recall Him supplying an answer.
I suppose it's a bit . . . something . . . to post such a reply . . . however, It's too difficult to resist . . . tavern or no tavern . . .
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.KJV
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. New Living Translation
WHEN folks refuse to accept THE TRUTH of the above assertion . . .
"truth" becomes whatever the propagandists declare it to be. And, they've been declaring that there is NO TRUTH . . . that ALL IS RELATIVE . . . profusely since 1915 . . . and well before that, to some degree.

Sorry, I was in another part of the tavern putting out a small fire. I sobered up.
I don't have much news from the family to report. I have an aunt in Winnipeg who fell and broke her hip. She's 95 or so, and in a nursing home, and just came out of surgery earlier this week. Normally they don't bother with surgery for someone that age, but it was intended to relieve the pain, not repair the hip. She broke the other hip earlier this year.
Two weeks ago, my cousin in California (in his 80s) had a stroke paralyzing his right side. He died about three days ago.
The tuxedo affair I attended tonight was a memorial church service for the members of our club and the ladies' auxiliary who had died in the previous year. The tux was part of the uniform for the honor guard.
Now, get me a drink and someone to hold onto. Sometimes it's hard to be entertaining.
