*How to change your Avatar*


To change your Avatar simply go to:


-Go to 'PROFILE'

-Click onto 'EDIT PROFILE' at the top right

-The Avatar page will come up

-To upload one of your own, click on the 'Uploaded/Link'

-A little window will open for you to 'Select Image' and that will open your browser

-Find the image you want, right click and hit 'Select' and viola, it should appear

-Then just hit 'Save Avatar Changes'

*View the most recent threads you       Participated in*


In order to quickly look at your most recent threads that you commented in:


-Look to the top right corner and just below your username/log out is a small button
with 'PARTICIPATED' 

-Click on that and a menu will drop down for you to scroll through the latest threads you were in

-Find the thread you were looking for and click it, it will take you there




ETA: Since then, there is now a 'Participated' selection at top left next to 'Home'

*How to post a YT Video in a Thread*


When needing to post a YT Video in a comment, click onto the 'Video' icon at the top right

-Click on it and a menu will open

-Copy the entire URL Address of the Video and paste it where it says 'Video URL'

-Then go to bottom and hit 'INSERT VIDEO'

 

*To Bookmark a Thread*



When you come across a favorite thread, just 'Bookmark' it

To do that, go to the thread of your interest

-Look for the 'ACTIONS' button above the 'Reply'

-Click on it and a small menu drops down

-Just click on 'Bookmark'

-The main Bookmark button is found in between 'Profile' and  'Messages'



 

*How to fix a False 'Private Message' Notification*



If you get a notification that you have a '1 Message' but don't find one and it won't go away, you may have to reset it

 (You can first try to click onto the 'Bubble' itself and see if that works)


To reset go to:

-Go to 'PROFILE'

-Click onto 'EDIT PROFILE'

-Click onto 'NOTIFICATIONS'

-Then scroll to the bottom and click onto the 'SAVE NOTIFICATION SETTINGS' located in the bottom left corner


That should 'RESET' your message display back to zero

*How to post an Image via Url Address*



If you don't want to use the 'Add Attachment' to post an image, there is another way


-First, if you have an image from another site, you must get the Url Address from it so you can post it here

------>>>> Right click on the image and an option window will pop open. Scroll down until you see
                  'View Image Info'



-A window will open with the picture along with the Url address which should already be highlighted

-'Copy' the url address



 


 ------->>>> Back to our Image icon...click on it to open window




-A menu will pop open requesting the url address you just copied

-'Paste' into the 'Image Url' bar

-Finish by clicking 'Insert Image'



Also notice the image is the regular size when done this way



**NOTE: If it doesn't take, re-copy the url address of the image info in case you accidentally hit 'Copy' instead of 'Paste'.......I speak from my own experience. LOL**

 

*Problem with someone's Post or with a Member*



If you ever come across a situation where you are upset about the contents of a post
Or a member is insulting/attacking you or another member relentlessly, just notify one or all of the Staff

You can do this by sending a 'Private Message' [PM] to the Staff member(s) of your choice
To send an alert to ALL of the staff, simply type 'Staff' for Recipient

Just include what the problem is, along with any offensive content and thread title
If a member is in question, please explain as best you can the details of this person's actions

Our main goal at Hernando's Hideaway is to keep everyone happy as possible
In order to do that, we must maintain respect for one another

From time to time however, depending on topic at hand, things can escalate and get out of control, most of the time without meaning for it to

As MODS, a lot of times we are working on stuff 'behind the scenes' so that is where we need your help in getting our attention regarding anything that looks to be getting out of hand
We appreciate any and all help available from anyone that sees something inappropriate and questionable
